Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Legs Along With Fatigue In A HIV Patient
My son has HIV/AIDS and is experiencing both leg swelling, rash, pain and pain in the bones of both legs and arms...ER doctors are baffled and he doesn t have an appointment with infectious disease doctor for two more weeks...he is fatigued, depressed and scared.
You are suggested to get your son clinically examined to check the status of the infection. It is always better to report to your treating doctor before taking OTC medicines. No, there is no need to become scared or depressed. He can take acetaminophen or ibuprofen, one SOS after food for relief. Topical pain relievers & creams are also effective.
He can try hot and cold compress, massage, do regular physical activity or exercises under a physiotherapist, reduce stress and let him take adequate rest. Give him home made nutritious food and get in contact with his treating doctor at the earliest. He needs a follow up clinical examination, he may need medical support.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
