Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Lips

My husband suffered a tramatic brain injury a week and a half ago. Today suddenly his upper lip has swollen up. He has not taken any meds today. The only things he has eated are sausage, bread, blue berries, black berries, and some raspberry jam with butter on toast. Is this something related to his injury? vball

I have analyzed your problem which seems to be due to an allergy which may or may not be related to the foods consumed

It is better to be cautious next time any of these foods is consumed. One can for now eliminate all these items and after a week or so introduce them one by one. the item that is causing the allergy will result in recurrence of eruption as soon as it is introduced. that way you can know what to avoid in future.

For the present episode i would have given Anti allergic like Avil to control swelling.
You may please talk to his neuro doctor and arrange to get an anti allergic accordingly. The problem is likely to be resolved fast by following this approach
