Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i took my husband to the ER tonight. They said he has blood vessels that had broken and filled his scrotum with blood. They told him not to take his blood thinners for a few days and gave him pain meds and sent him home. he is still swelling and now his scrotum is all black(purple). The swelling is going up in his pelvis area. would it be helpful to ice or heat the area
HI. Thanks for your query for your husband. Read and understood that your husband is on blood thinners and developed a huge hematoma of the scrotum. You visit to ER did not materialize too much and hence in spite stopping the blood thinner the hematoma made the scrotal area look like there is death of the skin, the gangrene. This needs immediate decompression and see that the skin be saved otherwise may need excision and skin grafting later on. Please consult your Doctors again, and see if there is an antidote for the medicine you had been taking.
