Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Purple Fingers After It Gets Smashed
I have a smashed both of my middle fingers , the tips are swollen & purple . Friends are telling me to drain the blood using a red hot paper clip...I want to just let it heal on its own . Will this cause a problem with blood clots ? Do I need to get the nails drained ? If I let it heal how long will it be swollen? Thank You .

The symptoms are suggestive of a hematoma. It has to be drained, if it is kept there it might lead to an abscess and unwanted complications. Consult an orthopedic and get it drained.
An X-ray is required to rule out a trivial fracture. An antibiotic cover is also required.
