Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Sore Throat With White Spots
I have a painful red swollen sore throat. My lymph nodes are swollen. I have a headache and my ears are crackling. I do not see any white spots on my throat. I had an unusual rash on my chin which is starting to go away. I have had a highly stressful month. What should I do? Am I contagious? I have a 17onth old grandson whom I babysit regularly. Thank you for your help.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Sore throat and associated lymph node enlargement are suggestive of infection of the throat. Infection of the throat can lead to lymph node enlargement. The headache can be associated with sore throat. You can take symptomatic treatment to relieve symptoms. saline gargles will be helpful to provide symptomatic relief to the inflammaed throat mucosa. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and prescription of antibiotic to treat the infection of the throat. In addition, an aspiration cytology of the lymph node can be done to know the cause of lymph node enlargement. If the lymph node enlargement is reactive in nature, it will subside once the throat infection is treated.
