The treatment for your swollen feet and ankles depends on the underlying cause(s). You should undergo further examinations.
Detailed Answer: Hello, Thank you for using HCM. I understand your concern. Besides treating the edema, you should undergo further examinations to understand the causing factor of it. You should be screened for all the possible causes of chronic bilateral feet edema such as cardiac diseases, renal diseases, deep vein thrombosis, gout, arthritis, several medications etc. You should be visited by an internist to make a objective examination of the legs and to take a detailed medical history, in way to lead you into further needed examinations, and follow up. Afterthat, the treatment for your swollen feet and ankles will depend on the underlying detected cause(s). Meanwhile, raising your feet above your heart level or simply getting off your feet regularly during the day will reduce the swelling. Periodic leg muscle movement by extension and contraction by simply by occasionally walking will help. Some physicians also recommend wearing support hose.
