Suggest Treatment For Swollen Foot And Ankle In A Gout Patient
Prior history of gout. Slow bulding flare up starting in left foot started 12 days ago. Foot and ankle swelled up and also in left elbow and middle knuckle on left hand. Have had it on right elbow in the past as well. Pain has subsided. But swelling in left foot and ankle is still acute. Could this be cellulitis instead? Reason being that the swelling has been going on for 10 days now.

I really appreciate your concern, the swelling may not be due to gout but this could be due to arthritis changes, some time gout and arthritis may happens together, this may not be cellulitis, try to keep the foot in elevated position, for the pain and swelling you can try "Tab Diclofenac 50 mg sustain release, hope this information helps, take care.
