Hi, I am tongue-tied and my frenulum got stuck between my two front teeth, a tried my hardest to be carful when removing it but now there is a rip, but it's not ripped completely. My frenulum is now swollen and there is two bumps on the bottom of my frenulum that are swollen. It bled for about 5 minutes and then stopped. Am I okay ? What should I do? Can you die from ripping your frenulum?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain first of all I would like to tell you that you will not die due to ripped frenulum.. The bumps and swelling are due to inflammation caused secondary to Traumatic injury caused due to stucked frenulum and you need not to worry as it will resolve soon.. You can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, do warm saline gargles and suck ice pops.. You can also apply Lignocaine Gel in case if there is pain.. Take soft diet and avoid spicy and hot food to prevent irritation..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora
