Suggest Treatment For Swollen Hand Post Getting Stung By A Bee

It is past 24 hrs. since I was stung by a bee and my hand is swollen so much I can barely bend my fingers and can't close my hand. I have been applying Benadryl. I also had an ice bag on it for 30-45 min. and it seemed to be making my hand painful & may be swollen even more. I hope you can help.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Allergic reaction to the bee sting toxin and it is causing inflammation of the finger leading to swelling and pain..
Applying topical anti allergics is not enough and you need to take Oral anti-allergics like Levocetrizine and anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
You can also continue cool compresses and apply topical anti allergics..
A Steroid shot can be given to reduce swelling faster..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
