General Surgeon 's  Response
Please continue with the medication doctor has advised. This will prevent recurrent filarial lympangitis. The swelling of the left foot and leg would be non-pitting. You should keep the skin soft and supple by applying a skin softner like Vaseline twice a day. This will prevent skin fissures and bacterial infection(cellulitis). You can also use compression stockings from toes to knees, to be worn in the morning, and throughout the day, and can remove it at night before going to bed.
