Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I had a CBC done on 10-2-14 and was advised Lymphs 3.2 High and ALT (SGPT) 39 High and recently I went to a Gastroenterologist who advised I have a swollen liver. I ve been EXTREMELY EXHAUSTED even after I get up in the morning and it s at times extremely debilitating. The Gastroenterologist said only to watch what I eat, exercise, stay away from fatty foods. However, I m quite concerned as I really don t feel good all the way around. I feel there s something very wrong and suspect it s got something to do with my liver. What would you recommend please? Thanks. YYYY@YYYY
Continue all liver meds that he wrote. Take tab Natallins Rx for a week. Taking antioxidants is proven to be very good for the liver. Consume aloe vera, amla, steamed vegetables, juices, and lots of fruits. Check blood sugar before before and after food. Drink 3-4 liters of water.
If USG is already done then you need to repeat it. It is recommended to find the cause of the swollen liver. Do you drink or smoke and what is your work history? Do hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C tests too. Take a follow up consultation twice a week with a gastroenterologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
