Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Glands At The Base Of The Skull
Hi, I recently had my hair highlighted. 5 minutes into the foils became burning hot and my hair dresser had to remove them. She did a ph wash to try to neutralize my hair. The rest of my head was fine, but the back of my head is very sore. She looked at my head and said she didnt see any blisters or burns. I now have 2 swollen lymph glands, one on the back of my head where the foils were, and one direclty below on my neck. The back of my head is really sore, and I apparently am leaking fluid from the area. Today is day 3 since the incident and my hair in that spot seems as if I poured glue along my scalp, yesterday was the worse but it seemed to be ok after I washed it with a vitamin e soap. Should I follow up with my doctor, or is this something that will heal on its own
Neck lymph nodes are usually enlarged due to local infection. These nodal swellings usually take time to resolve completely even after clearance of infection. Advice 1. Amoxicillin 500 mg three times daily for 7 days 2. Wash the wound with betadine liquid three times daily 3. Ibuprofen 600 mg per oral after meal if pain occurs Thanks
