Thank you. I have been taking Bactrim for 5 days now due to Celluliltes in my elbow. My elbow is still quite red & swollen like a circus clown s nose altho it is getting a little better. The swelling in my forearm is much better & my arm itches. Should it be working faster? Also, I have been tired while on the drug, which I figured is due to the infection. Also, is it OK to take Tums when I have indigestion which is a normal thing for me. I was concerned it may interfere with the Bactrim. Thanx-Kim
Hi. Thanks for your query. Tums must be taken at other times than when you take Bactrim. It is possible that the cellulitis at the elbow is not working well. You may request your Doctor to give an additional antibiotic and a reference to a General Surgeon. He would decide whether you need an incision and drainage for an early recovery.
I hope this answer helps you.
