Suggest Treatment For Swollen Purple Eyes After Respiratory Infection

16 month old with respiratory infection for two to three weeks, has had complete course of amoxicillin, now has swollen purple tearing eyes. No matting. Has been on drops for 4 days with no improvement. He was tested for RSV on 11/9; never got return call so assume results were negative. Could this be something other than pink eye?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having swollen purple eyes following respiratory tract infection.
This indicates probable acute infection of the eye in the form of acute conjunctivitis.
The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
