Suggest Treatment For Swollen Tonsils

I have a swollen tonsil on the right side that began to get very sore over night while I was sleeping. When I woke up this morning it is very hard and swollen with a little purple spot that almost looks like some sort of blood blister as well as when I press on it with a little bit of pressure I was seeing a little bit of blood on my fingernail. What does it sound like this is?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swollen tonsils on right side along with little blood which seems to be due to tonsillitis/tonsil stones. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid intake of cold carbonated beversges and do warm saline gargles on daily basis. You should take antibiotic Amoxicillin for 5 days in combination with antiinflammatory medication. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get throat swab test done and go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids.
