Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of UTI

I had bladder sling surgery in Nov 2015 that has not helped my frequent urination. I wear pads and have noticed a scant amount of blood on the pad twice in the last ten days. For the last 5 days I have been having some nauseau, body aches, and chills. Is it likely I have a UTI? YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

In my opinion, it may be UTI. We will not take any risk rather, will start the treatment. I would like to give some tests:

1. Complete blood test
2. KUB (Kidney, Ureter, Bladder) X-ray film
3. Urine analysis

I would like to start this medication, Ciprofloxacin orally twice every 12 hours for 7 days.

If there is fever, please take Paracetamol 500mg. If there is pain or body ache, please take Ibuprofen 300mg when needed.

Please, follow these guidelines below. Drink plenty of liquids, especially water.

Drinking water helps dilute your urine and ensures that you'll urinate more frequently — allowing bacteria to be flushed from your urinary tract before an infection can begin.

Drink cranberry juice. Although studies are not conclusive that cranberry juice prevents UTIs, it is likely not harmful.

Wipe from front to back. Doing so after urinating and after a bowel movement helps prevent bacteria in the anal region from spreading to the vagina and urethra.

Empty your bladder soon after intercourse. Also, drink a full glass of water to help flush bacteria.

Avoid potentially irritating feminine products. Using deodorant sprays or other feminine products, such as douches and powders, in the genital area can irritate the urethra.

Post another question, if possible with the test results, which can be helpful for the doctors here to give you next course of treatment if needed. You can also consult with doctors in your area.

But in my opinion, the treatment will be sufficient for now. If the further query is there, please ask. Do not worry as you are under good treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
