Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my son has read puffiness under his right eye with thick mucus discharge from his tear ducts, there doesn t seem to be any noticeable redness as with pink eye. he is also complaining of left ear pain. I understand ear infections are usually a secondary issue with other infections. he is also running just a very mild fever of 99.7. is this still likely conjunctivitis or possible allergies, or just an ear infection causing different symptoms.
Avoid rubbing eyes. The the description you have given suggestive of purulant (pus) conjunctivitis. Consult an ophthalmologist and start on antibiotic eye ointments.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
