Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Pathological Lying
i have a 14 year old daughter, lately she s been lying telling people she has luchemia and that her dad has cancer she has also lied about other things.her lies are so bad and the way she tells them makes you believe that is actually true. she has recently written a suicide letter that a school councillor showed it to me and found cuts on her arm awhile back she is now starting to get bullied because none of her friends at school believe what she says any more. is she looking for attention or is there something seriously wrong help
The behavior of your daughter is not normal and she needs immediate consultation with an expert psychiatrist without delay. There can be underlying depression or other comorbid disorders involving the central nervous system which provokes such suicidal behavior and attempts as well. Till that time, take care that she does not stay alone at home, otherwise she may end up with complete suicide as well.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
