Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Toilet Refusal Syndrome In A Child
My granddaughter will be four years old on Tues. She is above average in all her skills. Her parents and grandparents are both educators and have worked with her a lot. She refuses to use the potty. She is diaper trained. She can tell you when she needs a diaper. Is there a specialist in the Hickory, NC area who could help her parents with potty training her? They are lost on what to do next? She cries and refuses to use the bathroom.
Potty training is to be done with many things in mind. Your grand daughter is already 4 and she is smart enough to understand the ill effects of using diaper. But if you or other family members tell her about it, she will not listen to it. instead, ask any of her friends to tell her about this. Or you can request some of your neighbor or relative whom the girl respect. Such a step should work.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. K. V. Anand, Psychologist
