Hello dear patient. Welcome to HCM..
I am Dr Jigar ( Infectious Disease Specialist).
I have gone through your question and understand the problem you are facing.
Whenever you say test done for any disease, you must specify name and type of test because there are more than one diagnostic tests available for various infectious disease.
Anyway from information provided i assume that screening test like RPR test may have been performed on your sample for syphillis. Now this test if comes positive it needs to be confirmed by other more specific tests like TPHA or other.
Also you need to understand that this RPR test tells that your body have prepared weapons(
antibodies) against syphillis which remains for long time (upto 2 years) even if infection is cured from body by drugs. So the titre of test decreases with time. Your doctor should observe the fall in titre.
Regarding treatment yes penicillin injection is the drug of choice. It can cause severe
allergic reaction only in few person which can be detected by skin test before giving whole dose. So it can b used very well.
Vibramycin which you took is alternative but not as good as penicillin.
Lastly for
HIV you need to be careful and do the test again after 3 months evenif initially it came negative.
I hope this will help you for further steps. Give your valuable feedback if you are satisfied with answer. Take care.
Dr Jigar.
