Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Treatment For Tenderness And Pain In My Inner Left Thigh
This will sound dumb but I slipped and fell into a splits motion and felt a pop and EXTREME pain in my left inner thigh. No bruising. But tenderness, and pain. Inside my leg, and just to the right of behind my knee. I am competitive CrossFit athlete and coach. I am very mobile and highly active. Is there anything anyone could suggest I do to aid recovery?
Though primary care will be in terms of conservative measures as described below, an X-ray of the knee joint with or without MRI is best recommended to maintain athlete activity in future with equal efficacy. My guidelines for current relief: - Local application of ice pack or heating pad - Analgesic tablet as diclofenac or ibuprofen if no history of drug sensitivity - Local spray application with camphor, linseed oil - Postural adaptations to avoid sudden bending, strenuous exercises
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
