Suggest Treatment For Terrible Blisters On Heel Caused By Orthotic Insole Usage
I have been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and was prescribed an orthotic i sole that is recommended by podiatrist. After putting them in my walking shoes, I developed terrible blisters on the heel of my foot since the orthotics are much thicker and tighter. I was told that I need to wear well supported shoes with these orthotics everywhere, even in the house and my blisters hurt so much, they are causing me to limp. What should I do? Do I stop wearing the orthotics until my blisters heel? I just bought two new pairs of running shoes recently and can t take them back so I am really hoping I can try these orthotics again. Will my blisters come back if they heal? Do I try to just limp through the pain and hope that the blisters get better on their own. Thanks for your advice here.
Kindly avoid using the orthotics after consulting with your Doctor and explaining to him how the orthotics are causing problems to the skin of your feet.
You can use soft, non-clingy footwear and apply antibiotic ointment like Fucidin or Bactroban to the blisters to avoid severe infection. Use light sandals for walking for now.
There are other options for treatment of Plantar fascitis food which you may consult with your Doctor.
Thanking you.
Regards,
Dr. Aashish Raghu
