Suggest Treatment For The Flap Of Tissue At The Opening Of My Vagina
I have felt some mild irritation, usually after sex for the last couple of weeks...nothing too distressing but felt like a mild thrush. However on examining myself to check everything was ok I saw that just inside me there is a little flap of tissue just at the side of the opening to my vagina. It s pink in colour and looks like it s growing off the wall inside. It s about a cm long and about half a cm wide...it looks almost like a tiny tongue!? (For want of a better description!) This is causing the soreness and I don t know what it is... I haven t changed sexual partners, I have a coil fitted for years so I don t have a period and it s concerning me as to what this is...any advice please
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. What tissue you have found inside the vagina and describing it suggests that it could be a polyp. Polyps are noncancerous lesions arising out of mucosal tissue. It needs to be determined from where it is arising from inside. Hence, you need to undergo per speculum examination and undertake ultrasound scan of abdomen. On confirmation, it needs to be removed surgically. Kindly consult Gynecologist for its evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
