Thank you for the query.
I would like to know your father's age, and since how long he has been suffering from
End stage liver disease and kidney problems.
End stage liver failure/disease (ESLD) has a poor prognosis (unless you plan for a
liver transplant) and is associated with a number of conditions like poor immunity, increased risk of bleeding,
hypoalbuminemia (less protein/albumin in blood) and ascites (accumulation of fluid in the abdomen). ESLD can lead to renal failure (
hepatorenal syndrome), or the kidney disease may be unrelated to the liver problem. Due, to multiple hospital visits and poor immunity status, your father has probably developed Healthcare associated pneumonia, which requires antibiotic therapy.
The 1 year survival rate, in this situation is not very good (the
mortality rate is high). I would advise you to get in touch with his primary/treating physician, who can give you a better idea of the current situation, and whether visiting him is required immediately at this point of time.
Hope this helps you out.
