Suggest Treatment For The Onset Of Reflex

I think I ate bad chicken 11 days ago and I only stopped vomiting yesterday. Whatever it is seems to be moving down the gut as diarrhea has started today. I struggle to stay hydrated. I saw an urgent care 2 days ago and she said onset of reflux and gave me prilosec. I m thinking salmonella as I remember the odor when my children had it 20 years ago

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can e acute episode of food poisoning or gastroenteritis and possibility of salmonella is among the others but staph is more likely with your history.

In any case supportive treatment with ORS, fluids, anti spasmodic like Drotaverine, Metronidazole or Ciprofloxacin may be helpful along with soft diets.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
