Suggest Treatment For The Soreness Caused Post Implanon Insertion

My arm is really sore after Implanon inserted about 3 days ago. I m always hot / warm to the touch and the water proof bandage hurt like crazy when I had to remove it, due to a reaction to its addhesive. Now it s really really painful and very very tender. The area around it is also really painful and tender also. I m worried that the tugging of the removal of the bandage caused this. Since it s been in I ve been warm/hot to the touch. Is this normal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to local inflammation.

As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If there are signs of infection, antibiotics have to be started.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
