Thick endometrium demands prompt diagnosis & specific treatment ....Thickness of endometrium can be due to infection & inflammation of endometrium/
Hormonal imbalance /poly-cystic ovaries.
Poly- cystic ovaries is characterized by - A typical USG picture of multiple immature follicles being arranged in periphery of ovary .. the number of theses cysts being more than 12./
Insulin resistance & increased body weight/ absent ovulation/Dominance of male hormones indicated by excessive facial hairs
You doctor would go through various tests to confirm/ exclude PCOD/ in.
* In case there is no other cause found doctor may demand for
endometrial biopsy ( with miner surgery ).. & you should allow it... this is going to be final aid of diagnosis .
Endometrial cancer is considered as a possibility, specially in
thickened endometrium & in women who had been never pregnant.
