Suggest Treatment For Thigh Pain When Diagnosed With Lumbar Spinal Stenosis
I m having thigh pain from lumbar stenosis. I ve been in pt for 3 months with little success. I m fine walking, sitting and standing but have stabbing pain moving from sitting to standing. When I stand it takes a few minutes for the pain to subside and then I can walk and move without pain. I also have severe pain with any addiction movement of my leg. It s only on the right side. Norco helps with the pain, but toradol IV gives 100% relief for up to two days. I m currently on relafen 500 b.i.d. MRI showed mild to moderate stenosis involving the facies. Do you have any insights on other treatments? Would I get relief from steroid/marcaine injections?
Hi, Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. Please find my advice below-: 1)Try with steroid first and physiotherapy. 2)Do (bilateral laminotomy) which is a good surgical procedure with 2-3 days maximum hospital staying only and outcome is excellent.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. Wishing you all the best. Thanks,
