Hi - I am 25 year old female with a sore throat, the roof of my mouth is yellow near the tonsils, I also have joint pain around my neck and shoulders and ear ache. Plus a small headached. I suffer sometimes from allergies/hay-fever during spring... this time last year it got so bad that I had sinus infections and a ruptured ear drum... just feeling a little worried and need some advice... thanks.
I have gone through your medical history carefully and feel sorry for the situation you are in.
Having sore throat is common for viral infection. However, what is uncommon and worrisome is the yellow area near the tonsils, indicating possible bacterial infection.
I highly recommend to consult with ENT specialist as soon as possible as you need to start immediate antibiotic therapy.
Meanwhile, I advise to: - keep a good hygiene of your throat - gargle with warm water and salt - use oral iodine spray
