Hello Dr. I have had the flu Thurs Dec. 30 2010 and was up with fever and coughing Fri Dec 31 non-stop. I took Tylenol to break the fever and had alot of hot soup and tea to soothe my throat, however by Sat Jan 1 I couldn't sleep for three nights. I keep coughing at night. Sun Jan 2 I went to a walk in clinic and was prescriped a COACTIFIED SYRUP (Pseudoephedrine) and take it once a night..However, Sun and last night MON night I keep coughing all night. It seems not to suppress the cough and I still wake up coughing. I am really really tired by 5 nights of lack of sleep and need to go to work tomorrow WED. My fever has been gone as the DR at the walk in clinic confirmed as I know. it's just this nagging DRY cough and I use Robittusin DRY Cough 1 teaspoon during day it doesn't work either. I have a constant dry cough and it really hurts my throat meaning now it feels like daggers when I swallow. My husband suggested that maybe I need to take Bendadryl Allergy medicatiion last night I did it did help a little meaning I got 4-hrs max of sleep on and off. Please help! I will be going to another walkin clinic today since my GP isn't available till FRI. Please help me. I am 41 and haven't had a flu like this before.
