Suggest Treatment For Throat Pain And Swallowing Difficulty
So i don t know if i have a sore throat or Strep or etc. It s been about 2 days now and now my tonsils are closing up tightly and i can t eat or drink anything. I ve tried redemies that have given me temporary relief but none lasting long. My uvula is touching my throat and it feels weird and kind of hurts to talk. And it feels uncomfortable and it s night right now and i want to sleep but i don t know if i can because of my throat bothering me. So what do i do now.
As the symptoms are suggestive of acute strep throat most likely, an ER visit is mandated at this point. However, primary relief can be seen with: - Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil - Avoidance of cold drinks, dairy sweets - Avoidance of exposure to cold, dry air or pollen - Deep breathing exercises - Analgesic as ibuprofen with paracetamol - Prescription of antibiotics as fluoroquinolones or macrolides after clinical examination
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
