General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As the symptoms are suggestive of acute strep throat most likely, an ER visit is mandated at this point. However, primary relief can be seen with:
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil
- Avoidance of cold drinks, dairy sweets
- Avoidance of exposure to cold, dry air or pollen
- Deep breathing exercises
- Analgesic as ibuprofen with paracetamol
- Prescription of antibiotics as fluoroquinolones or macrolides after clinical examination

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
