Suggest Treatment For Throbbing Pain That Radiates From Chest To The Extremities

Aspen Lee. 23yo white female, Portland Oregon. Since I woke up this morning I ve been having random throbbing pain which radiates from my chest to my extremities. Each instance seems to be in time with a heartbeat, but otherwise my heartbeat seems regular. The pain is a 4 on a 1-10 scale. Do I need to go to the hospital?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you are having throbbing chest pain radiating to the hands (extremities) you need to be physically examined, it commonly occurs due to developing cardiac disease (angina, AF, CCF, CAD, etc)

However, some times it is triggered by Acid Reflux, take antacids & PPI's for relief.

Avoid oily food, red meat, high protein diet, maintain low BMI, take homemade food, berries, veggies, fruits.

Stay away from addictions if any. Treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
