Suggest Treatment For Thrush In Mouth And Candida Due To Anal Itching

I have a question about Fluconazole…
I'm a 36 year old male who was prescribed 150mg of Fluconazole (1 dose) to treat mild thrush in the mouth. I would get thrush in the mouth the morning after drinking alcohol. The thrush has gone away, however i think i still have candida due to anus itching and forehead acne (that usually clears up with Nizoral shampoo).
I was given a refill on the Fluconazole… should i take another dose to ensure all candida is gone?
What are the chances the candida will grow back?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain Fluconazole 150mg is given in atleast 2 or three refills to completely resolve the fungal infection and you should definitely take the refilled dose..
Itching on forehead and anal itching can be due to fungal infection and along with oral medication topical application of anti-fungal ointments can help in faster relief..

The chances of recurrences depends upon the cause and if the factor causing thrush is also removed the chances become less for recurrences..
So maintain a good hygiene and take medication as and when advised by your doctor so that there is no recurrence..
