Suggest Treatment For Thyroid And Cholesterol Levels Being Above Normal
Hi, i have been experiencing symptoms of hypothyroid. I did a blood test and surprisingly my thyroid function was above normal. As medicines I take contraceptive pill and iron supplements because I suffer from anemia. The blood result also showed cholesterol to be above normal levels.
Contraceptives can increase thyroid levels but it's better to check with endocrinologist to start levothyroxine tablet if it's clinically indicated or send me your reports, cholesterol levels can be mild, moderate, severe and accordingly treatment is given (diet can include fresh fruits, juices, steamed vegetables, amla, aloe vera, basil, antioxidants and multivitamins for a week). Consult an endocrinologist once.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
