I have a 5.3cm cold nodule on the left lobe of my thyroid. A biopsy has been sceduled. My Dr. indicates possible cancer or thyroiditis.
My Thyroglob AB level is 55 IU/ML. All other T levels are normal.
I have experienced hair loss a year or so ago, and swelling of my fingers where I cant wear my wedding ring. But these have been going on for over a year or two. Lately I have noticed tingling on the tops of my feet when I walk every so often. Is there a connection with all of this? I'm a nervouse wreck to get this biopsy done. Any informayion would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, Thank you for asking on HCM! I have gone carefully through your concern. Rather the symptoms your described are due to under active thyroid it is confirmed by hormonal blood tests; -TSH, Ft4 and FT3 level. Normally the thyroid nodule you reported does not cause general symptoms. Hashimoto thyroiditis is the main cause of the under active thyroid.
Biopsy is useful in cases of large nodules. For a personalised comprehensive evaluation, treatment recommendations, or individual therapy, ask me at HealthCareMagic at this private link: HCM Dr. Guni
