Suggest Treatment For Toenail Injury With Bleeding

I banged my toenail a while ago and it went black and fell off. Since then it s started to grow back fine until recently. It s gone very thick and then last night I went to see if I could trim it and it started to ooze clear liquid with a little hint of blood afterwards. Wondering what to do? Will it just keep growing normally or do I need to see a doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is normal for the new nail to have a deformed shape. Oozing of blood or clear fluid is also indicate of some clotted blood over the area which may be new or old. There is no need to worry. I would advise you not to trim it or injure it till its grown fully and gained proper position.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
