Hello,
You have developed red lumps round the back of your left tonsil. Your right tonsil is also showing yellow mucus / pus. In case of infection the tonsils often become red, swollen, aching and in some cases
white spots may develop which are filled with pus. Pus inside the white spots on tonsils suggests bacterial or a viral infection. The cause of of swelling, redness or white spots may be due to tonsil stones,
pharyngitis,
tonsillitis,
strep throat, developing
leukoplakia, allergy, etc.
Early signs of leukoplakia include white spots on the mouth, tongue and tonsils. You are suggested to quit smoking.
Smoking cessation frequently fixes the white spots. Viral infections will go away by itself. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water and also gargle at least three times a day. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT as white spots without the existence of pain or any symptoms may be indicative of malignant growth.
Get required tests, blood workouts and investigations done to detect the pathology (like tonsillitis, pharyngitis, allergy, tonsil stones, etc.) causing you symptoms, you will be accordingly treated. In the meantime, to reduce the redness, swelling and discomfort, you can take analgesics,
Acetaminophen or Combiflam, one SOS when required to relieve discomfort. You can take a course of antibiotics like acetaminophen to control infection. Take liquid food or semi-solid food so that you do not hurt the lump / tonsil. Take sips of water, stay adequately hydrated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
