Suggest Treatment For Tooth Ache And Inflamed Gums
I saw the dentist Friday concerning a tooth ach, back molar with a crown on it. He said the gums were inflamed but no other signs that are serious, use ibuprofen and a mouth rinse he sold me. The pain is still very high level and I have to take every 4 hours the ibuprofen to just function. I filled the emergency prescription he gave me for amoxicillin, how long before I can expect some relief or is there a more serious problem.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain if the pain is so severe and not getting relieved there seems to be secondary infection in tooth leading to cavity formation in tooth and it seems that the infection has reaching the nerves present in the central portion of tooth and irritation of nerves is the cause of severe pain.. If it would be gum pain it would have reduced and even it is not so severe..
You should consult an oral physician and get an IOPAR [ X RAY] done to rule out the cause of pain.. If tooth is deeply decayed then removal of the crown under local anaesthesia and getting root canal treatment done followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help..
In case if it is really due to gum infection which seems less probable, then localized scaling of the area followed by antibiotics and painkillers and application of gum paint will relieve.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
