Suggest Treatment For Tooth Decay Causing Severe Pain And Swollen Face

Hi, so one of my upper back molars rotted out and broke in half now I have severe pain that takes up the whole right side of my face especially by the ear and cheek bone. It's getting so bad to the point I can't think and can't lay down or anything. It's a throbbing pain that has lasted for the last 3 days. I get about an hour of sleep and I'm over doing the over the counter pain medications(4-5 at a time) I don't know what to do, I don't have insurance and can't afford to go to the dentist.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have a sever tooth infection that has involved the nerves present in the centre of the tooth and nerve irritation and inflammation is leading to severe pain..
As there is swelling also it seems that there is formation of Dental Abscess due to pus formation below the root tips of the tooth and as the pus also puts pressure over the nerves it is causing severe pain..
It will not resolve simply with pain medications and you need to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like IOPAR [ X-RAY] can help in diagnosis..
In case if tooth can be saved then root canal treatment of tooth followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help..
In case if tooth is grossly decayed extraction of the tooth is the only resort left..
As of now to relieve severe pain you can take higher painkiller like Tramadol or Ketorolac..
Do cool compresses..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
