Suggest Treatment For Tooth Sensitivity

I have a sensitive tooth at the back I can brush it and eat on it but hot drinks sometimes send a pain right through it, I have got a habit now of checking it all the time by rubbing my tongue over it sometimes I get pain and sometimes I don t. Can help probing a sensitive tooth with my tongue make it worse?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

If you have a sensitive tooth then it can be due to either abrasion of tooth that can cause sensitivity of the tooth.

Other causes can be deep decay in tooth, fractured tooth etc..

So first of all get a clinical examination done followed by x ray of the tooth for narrowing down the cause..

If the tooth is abraded then filling or capping can help in resolving the sensitivity..
If there is deep decay then root canal treatment can be done..

As of now you can start using anti-sensitivity toothpaste..
Avoid very hot or very cold foods..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
