Suggest Treatment For Tourette And Occipital Neuralgia

My 52 year old daughter has turrets, and occipital neuragia, She is taking many (15) different medications, she is out of percogesic, I have come across her prescription from several weeks ago of Dilantin, which had been prescrbed for her, I m hoping it will help her pain, she now is only able to see from her left, and not very clearly,.It is Heartbreaking to us as parents. She has a Docters appointment on Wednesday, the 16th. Have you a suggestion? Thank you so very much, for your time, and consideration, her Mother, Carol.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your daughter had turreted disease. It is not life threatening and comprises of multiply tics. I feel Dilalantin was given to her to control such tics.

Occipital neuralgia is a severe head ache that starts at neck and moves above but it is not said to cause vision loss.I feel she has refractory error or possibly increased eye pressure giving her these symptoms. It's good that you are taking her to doctor a direct physical examination would discover some health issues with its cause.

But I would suggest a check up by opthalmologist to exclude / find eye problem followed by needful treatment / management to give her relief and satisfaction to both of you.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
