Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my name is Darlene I injured my left foot on august 14th I heard something crack or pop it is very tender went to dr on august 17 they said nothing broke put a boot on it and sent me home. but 2 nights ago I fell in hole and twisted my right foot. cant hardly get around even with crutches do they check your hem string in the heels cause I think I tore mine in both feet.
As per my surgical experience, the twist injury over foot with inability to walk indicates sprain or strain with anterior or inferior talofibular ligament most likely which is major concern with low or high ankle sprains. Primary relief with: - Heating pad application - Analgesic intake as ibuprofen after meals if no history of drug sensitivity - Avoid barefoot walking - Avoid tight shoes or sandals - Wear soft slippers - Local application of analgesic spray with Diclofenac or Caspaicin cream
Consult your orthopedic specialist for need of an MRI of the leg to get tissue details and guidelines of care accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
