Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had random muscle twitching all over my body for almost two years-It stopped for about 3 months, but came back with a vengeance I recently started feeing pain and discomfort as well as stinging in my right arm-I use my computer a lot, and realize that I could be aggravating any possible arthritis, but the twitching is driving me crazy and obviously I am concerned about serious disease.
Twitching all over the body may be part of some neurological disorder. The issue may be lying at the level of cerebral cortex, limbic system, descending motor pathway, neuro-muscular junction or muscle fibers. In my clinic, I do recommend detailed history, physical examination, nervous system evaluation with motor tone, reflexes, electromyography, nerve conduction studies with supportive lab evaluations.
Though primary relief with excess twitching can be best obtained through intake of muscle relaxant as Chlordiazepoxide or Tizanidine or Baclofen after consulting your primary care physician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
