Suggest Treatment For Typhoid Fever In An 3 Year Old Child

Sir/ Madam My 3 year 10 months daughter is diagnosed with typhoid and is advised zifi-100, after 3 days we admitted her to hospital as diet intake was poor, right now she is taking antibiotic through cannula I.e. monocef ( through cannula 7 doses given ) + azee 200 oral ,fever come after every 9-10 hr and after giving crocin syrup drops, please advice how much time it will take to cure

I have gone through your question and understand your concern. It is difficult for a parent to see a child suffer and it is common for children below 3 years to stop feeding when suffering. Antibiotics will surely help but it will take about 7 to 14 days for the symptoms to subside and the duration of illness is about 3-4 weeks. Antibiotics, intravenous fluids and hydration are the key to treat typhoid fever.
Even when the fever subside feed bland diet to the child to avoid formation of ulcers in intestine, typhoid is spread through contaminated food and water therefore make sure that child gets hygienic foodstuff.
