My grandson is 6 days old. His doctor is testing his thyroid because my daughter takes meds for under active thyroid. She has antibodies. A pediatric endocrinologist has looked at his results and wants to retest next Tuesday . From all I ve read, this is something that has to be treated immediately to preventive cognitive issues. How soon would treatment have to begin if he does have an under active thyroid. Thank you.
