I am 47 years, weighs 88kg and is 1,73m. I have an underactive thyroid and use 0.1mg eltroxin a day. My weight has suddenly increased (5kg in one month) although I am excercising. Would it be better for me to change to diotroxin. I am dieting and excercising more and nothing helps.
Hello, I read carefully your concerns. First you have to check the TSH level, if it is still high than the dose is mot enough and you should raise the dose. If the TSH level is within the normal ranges with 100 mcg of eltroxin than it means that the medication is working and there is no need to change rather than to try to find out another cause for your overweight with your treating physician Hope i have been helpful. Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
