Suggest Treatment For Upper Respiratory Infection And Diarrhea
Will amoxicillin kill pinworms? My son was prescribed amoxicillin for an upper respiratory infection. He now has diarrhea and a terrible stomach ache. Helping him clean after using the restroom, I noticed what may be pinworms on tge dark colored wash cloth used.

Hello, Amoxicillin is an antibiotic helpful only against certain bacterial infection as in upper respiratory tract, urinary tract etc. It has no action against helminths. For curing pin worms one needs to use a drug like Albedazole 400 mg. One dose is invariably enough. Sometimes one more dose needs to be repeated after a fortnight. Thanks
