Suggest Treatment For Upper Respiratory Infections
First off I ve been sick for almost two weeks. I went to the Doctor and they told me I had a upper respiratory virus. I ve finished both my anabiotic s in my steroids they prescribe me about two or three days ago. Today I woke up with the worst headache and I can t really breathe without coughing/ gagging on a white fomey mucus. Should I go to the hospital.
Cough with mucus suggests congestion. If the mucus is yellow or green then it suggests bacterial infection. If mucus is white colored then there is no infection.
Steam inhalation and mucolytic will be required in this case. I suggest you to consult your pulmonologist for prescription of suitable medication based on symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri,
