Suggest Treatment For Urinary Tract Infection

Hi! I was seeking guidance to help me with a big issue I ve been having! I m too embarrassed to go to a face to face doctor to discuss my issue. I have been diagnosed with having several Uniray tract infections in the past, and I may think this could be the problem I am experiencing now. I am more than frequently feeling the urge to urine, and when I do, I feel a strong pain, like a stinging sensation, although I believe its getting worse. When I urinate I am now peeing blood! Do you think this is a major urinary tract infection, or something else?? Please help!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

These symptoms are suggestive of uroinfection and this is common in your age and usually is manifested with pain during urination, fever and changes in urination frequency. Also, blood traces may be present in urine which can have odour or colour change.

Other common causes are urinary stones. Diagnosis is established by doing urine analysis and urinoculture and after this antibiotic treatment may be started if necessary. If there is negative urine analysis then you should do an ultrasound of kidneys to check for stones. You should drink plenty of fluids and take raspberry tea or juice to promote urination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
