Suggest Treatment For Urinary Tract Infections

For several weeks I thought I was fighting off a uti, but it came back every few days. Then about a week ago, it worsened to include all-over body aches, more pain on urinating, chills & fever, flank & pelvic pain. I feel like I have a really severe flu. This has also interrupted & lessened my sleep. Also have had muscle spasms often, though I take baclofen for those- not helping. My question is: does the same urine test diagnose both uti and kidney infection?

Hello.
Thanks for query .Based on the symptoms that you had I would state that you have severe UTI .

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Routine urine analysis and urine culture are the tests carried out to confirm UTI and Kidney infection.Few more additional blood tests like Renal function tests are advised if kidney infection is suspected .
